When you say Hong Kong, it’s only natural to think of a bustling city. With the country currently holding the number one spot above New York and Dubai for its current number of completed skyscrapers, its fair to say that its skyline is something that attracts millions of tourists each year. Nevertheless, much to my surprise, there are also many retreats scattered across the island. Its collection of 50 beaches offer the chance to escape the hum of the city and instead enjoy some of the more peaceful spots that the country has to offer.
Located down South of Hong Kong island, Stanley Beach is like a home away from home. Its endless choice of restaurants along the main street and collection of street stalls in the market square all overlook crystal clear waters, making it perfect for people watching.
Watch the city disappear into the distance by taking the Aqua Luna over to Stanley Beach, a red-sailed Chinese junk boat.
Pick up a bargain at the endless choice of market stalls.
Unlike the name, Repulse Bay is another stunning beach in the South district of the island and is the home to some of Hong Kong’s wealthiest residents with it being one of the most expensive places to live. From the beach you can look up in awe at some of the spectacular homes built up in the mountains.
Across Hong Kong you’ll see many buildings with holes in them. These are known as “dragon holes” where in Feng Shui tradition, the holes provide the dragon with a route from hill to sea. Here’s just one seen from Repulse Bay.
Cool off with a nice cold drink as it does get very, very hot!

Let me know if you’ve visited any beaches in Hong Kong and which ones are your favourite!
